Remember that tiny crochet block I came up with the other day? Well, here is a sort of pattern/tutorial thing, if you want to have a go (in which case, do whatever you see fit with it, just somehow refer back to me, thanks! 🙂 ) All the pics will open bigger in a new tab, if clicked on.
Begin with colour of the flower´s center. Into a sliding loop, make 8 scs, connect with a sl st to 1st sc.
Ch1, make 2 scs into each of next 7 sc, make a sc into the sl st from the 1 row, connect with a sl st to the ch1. Break yarn.
With the colour for the petals, start with a sl st and ch 3.
To form a petal, make a cluster of 3 trc into the next sc.
Ch 3 and make a sl st to the next sc.
Repeat 7 times to make 8 petals, finish with sl st in the 1st sl st. Break yarn.
Now, to set up the foundation of the square, we will crochet to the back loops of the petals, specifically, to the back loops of the sl sts between the petals.
Ch 2, sc into the same bl. Repeat 3 times, end with sl st in to 1st sc. You have a square, that has 4 sides of 5 ch sp and 4 corners of 2 ch sp.
Next row, start with 2 ch counting as 1 dc, make 5 dc into each 5 ch sp and 2 dc 2 ch 2 dc into each 2 ch sp. Join with sl st into 2nd ch.
Here is the wrong side.
For the second row of the square, start with 2 ch counting as 1 dc (dc into every dc, 2 dc 2 ch 2 dc into the 2 ch sp) repeat 3 times. Join with sl st into 2nd ch.
You can obviously add as many rows as you want, just dc into every dc and remember to make 2 dc 2 ch 2 dc into the corners. With 2 square rows and DK yarn and 3,5 hook, the block measures 6,5 x 6,5 cm, so it is a small thing 🙂
I hope this is of some interest to you, please, point out any mistakes. Soon I will hopefully show you the finished object from the first picture.
I took this post to party!
